Linday lost in the Justice Court race over in Rankin County, thank God. How did his co-hort do in the Madison County Justice Court race? I can't remember the guy's name....

I also noticed that all the statewide/countywide uncontested GOP candidates in Rankin County got over 29,000 votes -- except for Steve Simpson. Apparently a bunch of us just couldn't hold our noses and vote for that guy.

Boarzombie said...

Oh, and with an open primary system Mac would've been partying hard at Hal & Mal's last night. I'm just sayin' (again again).

Anonymous said...

The only thing that worked in Hinds County like it is supposed to was Mac's group...Now, it looks like we have a thug leading the decline....time to bail!

Ironghost said...

I'm amused to see Kenny finally got his HindsCoBOS seat. I'm wondering if he's an improvement or what.

Anonymous said...

Hope Hinds County republicans felt real good when they voted for those foregone conclusions, instead of Sheriff McMillin.

Now Hinds County belongs to the Republic of New Africa.

Anonymous said...

There's very important absentee vote count going on right now in the Madison Co Courthouse to determine the final results in the District 3 BOS race.

I understand 1,000 votes are being counted. There were only 117 between DI Smith and Gerald Steen...the unofficial winner.

Anonymous said...

I wonder if Sheriff Tyrone Lewis will appoint any soldiers from the Republic of New Africa or the New Black Panthers as deputy sheriffs.
Wouldn't be surprised.
Afterall, Chokwe Lumumba has said according to the RNA creed-- WE will achieve our objectives by any means necessary.

Anonymous said...

I'm assuming the absentee ballots could push Longwitz over the 50% mark?

Anonymous said...

I was kind of stunned by how flat-out rude Mac was to the reporter from WAPT last night. Her questions didn't seem out of line to me. If he didn't want to answer questions he shouldn't have agreed to be interviewed. I'm still sorry to see him lose though.

Anonymous said...

The WAPT reporters are stupid, but pretty and have huge racks...that is why they got hired!

Boarzombie said...

3:22 I didn't think Mac was so much rude as the young lady's interviewing style was weak -- she was asking questions, not having a conversation. He expected her to come back with, "Oh, I'm going to be doing this for a LONG time" to which he would have replied "Me too." A good interview is a dance, and that reporter had two left feet.

$2 million bucks in BS salaries and positions are gone from the Sheriffs Office. The Marines are moving in!

Anonymous said...

I feel so sorry for Hinds County residents. Your property value just fell 50% over night.

Anonymous said...

BS. Whatever.

If Mac ends up loosing the primary, Jackson needs to write him in!!!

Randy Tucker for Sheriff in Madison County! The runoff is only 3 weeks away and those who supported Harbour and Sandridge need to put thier support behind Tucker.

Anderson said...

"The runoff is only 3 weeks away and those who supported Harbour and Sandridge need to put thier support behind Tucker."

Well, we know that Houston ran a P.D. that cranked out false DUI arrests, so we can expect more of the same from MCSO if he's elected.

Tucker it is, then.

The Triumphant Return of Metrocenter said...

It party time for Tyrone Jr. I can already hear the thumping of Young Jeezy wafting across I-220.

Now that Lewis is sheriff and Kenny is a supe, all the groundwork is laid for David Watkins to turn Metrocenter into an indoor Six Flags, complete with luxury hotel, movie theaters, indoor water park and solar powered workout stations (whatever those are).

And if you think I'm making that last bit up, google "project retro metro".

Jackson gonna be a PARADISE!

Anderson said...

Put a NASCAR track through the surrounding parking lot, and you've got a bipartisan project!

Watkins sells the KE/SL complex before his 10 year kickback of sales tax collections expires.

Bank on it.

LeBeau0605 said...

Y'all are forgetting the most important part of the nail in the coffin for Hinds....Bennie becomes NE Jackson's Representative! Mass Exodus insues - Lewis, Stokes and Thompson a Trifecta!

Anonymous said...

It is wealth redistribution LeBeau. Drive the whites out of NEJax for pennies on the dollar.

But for the Chokwe-era racists the short term "gain" is won for the price of longer term tax revenue shortfall pain.

Jackson is going BK and the myth spread by the downtown cult that the suburbs will also fail is only that, a myth.

Anonymous said...

That's BS about the false DUI arrests in Ridgeland. Houston will be the next sheriff of Madison County. You can make book on that.

Curt Crowley said...

Some of these comments about Tyrone Lewis are ridiculous.

Look, I like Malcolm McMillin just as much as anyone else. Twelve years ago Sheriff McMillin gave me a job when I desperately needed one. If he hadn't hired me, I probably wouldn't have had the money to even pay the application fee to take the bar exam (much less pass it). I've never forgotten how he helped me. He's a good man who has rendered years of loyal service to the citizens of this county.

That being said, this vitriol toward Tyrone Lewis is out-of-line. One anonymous asshole (213pm) called Lewis a thug. Then the ghost of Tom Metzger (Anon 237pm) writes that "now Hinds County belongs to the Republic of New Africa." Are you kidding me? Why don't you just go ahead and start using the N-word you racist fuck?

You scumbags make *me* want to join the Republic of New Afrika.

Tyrone Lewis has been a law enforcement officer for 30 years. He's college-educated, and has held every rank in JPD, from patrol officer to interim chief. He's served the citizens honorably. Are there some things he could have done differently during his time at JPD? Of course. That just makes him human.

I know some people are upset Sheriff McMillin lost. Others just like trashing Hinds County. Regardless of the motivation for these disgusting comments, how about showing Mr. Lewis some goddamn respect.

Any more news on D.I./Steen in Mad County? Have they finished counting absentees?

I don't think I'll be employing an attorney who uses the words fuck and goddamn on a public forum, using his own name. Perhaps the Republic do be needin' a good attorney to ride shotgun to Choke-um.

"Make book on that????" Really. You sound like the mentally retarded version of B--RAD on Malibu's Most Wanted.

Junior, since you are apparenty new here, please allow me to educate you about Jimmy Houston's adopted son and DUI guru, Daniel Soto. Follow the links below to view Kingfish's excellent reporting on little Soto's exploits.

After viewing the posts, text the old man and ask him when we can "make book" on him getting off his 68 year-old ass and arresting his boy Soto.

The false DUI arrests are exactly the reason we will not be voting for Houston, nice guy but very shotty things have gone on in Ridgeland, so our extended family counts for 17 votes for Tucker. It should have been addressed.

Will Longwitz Vs Charles Barbour
Senate District 25, Hinds and Madison Counties

The official count in the Barbour vs Longwitz Senate District 25 race places Will Longwitz with 49.776% of the votes cast at the polling stations. Presently, absentee and affidavit ballots are being counted to see if Longwitz actually attained 50% of the total vote or not. If he gets above that threshold, the primary is over and Longwitz is the Republican nominee. If he stays below 50%, he and Charles Barbour duke it out all over again on August 23.

Curt:

I too think a fair examination should be had of Tyrone. He has poor judgment in a position that requires just the opposite. He is a perjurer and has poor judgment.

He allowed his son to steal from the City of Jackson...he allowed his son to profit from taxpayer dollars via parties thrown and covers kept at city training facilities. Then he tried to justify it. That is poor beyond the pale.

What else? The Mississippi Supreme Court all but called Tyrone a perjurer in the Rebelwood case which was rendered not that long ago. You know, the one where Tyrone swore under oath that a lady died at the Rebelwood apartments and that the apartment owner should be held liable for lack of security...when Tyrone knew all along the lady was actually dumped (already dead) at Rebelwood.

Your attempt to endorse his actions make you an accessory to perjury in my opinion. FYI...when they trace the money Tyrone used to run his election campaign back to perjury suborning shit sacks...you will have to come back here and genuflect while you felate every person on here who called you out on your absurd selfserving suck job you just performed on Tyrone.

Bitch.

Addressing 8:14 : If Houston is so great, why have 21 employees left the Ridgeland Police Dept in the past year because they don't like working for him.- If you live in Madison Co. I'm guessing you expect the "flunkies" to protect your ass huh?

Anonymous said...

I think the absentee ballots in Madison are done, but we don't have a total yet. The affidavits will be done tomorrow. I think it won't take long (a few hours), and then we'll have results. There are a lot of ballots outstanding, but not so many when you divide out the district DI is in. Don't know what the number is, but it will be difficult for him to close the gap. Longwitz still has a shot at avoiding a runoff.

Anonymous said...

I'm not a Houston fan at all, but they only had six people leave this year and only one or two blamed Houston

Anonymous said...

Well, your best bet is Tucker. He already knows the ins & outs of the SO and the Jail. He knows the strengths & weaknesses. He's ready & familiar from day 1. As Houston said on WLBT tonight, they need to upgrade their computers. If he knew anything about the SO, he would know they upgraded only 1 1/2 yrs ago. Things are fine at the SO, and the citizens of this county do not need it shaken up.

On a note more related to the subject at hand, the reason Stokes has called for an investigation of Hinds County voting procedures has now come to light (at least for me). His wife lost in her bid to become a Hinds County Justerce Coat Jurdge.

7:34, the subtitle already says "politics." No redundant addition is required.

Reed said...

Wow, eloquence abounds in this thread.

I'm sorry, Curt, but you need to do better. If you cannot make your point with passion, yet without vulgarity, you probably chose the wrong profession.

To dismiss perjury as "things he could have done differently" is ludicrous. People have legitimate concerns about a man who displayed an attitude of disregard for the law as JPD interim chief. Now that he's sheriff, how he may conduct himself (given his history) is troubling to say the least.

You feel differently? Fine, but if you feel you must spit obscenities to make your point, then please head over to the JFP where they consider such discourse the pinnacle of incisive debate, rather than the dregs of inarticulate buffoonery.

KaptKangaroo said...

Reed get off your horse.

Anonymous said...

Anybody hear any condemnation out of the JFP for the cluster f'k of a primary the Hinds Democratic Party botched on Tuesday? And when you have a problem with the machines at ONE (Wynndale) of 162 precincts it is 99.999999% most likely to be a case of precinct OPERATOR ERROR and not that of the election commission.

Anonymous said...

Thanks, Reed, for your excellent comments. Pay no attention to the clowns whose only reason for writing comments in this forum is to attack with tacky words those with whom they disagree.
Judging from comments Kangaroo and his ilk have written in the past I believe they have a problem.

If that constitutes being "on a horse", I'll continue to ride, thank you very much.

The strong profanity in my comment was directed primarily at the 2 klukkers who made the overtly racist statements.

You're the first person I've ever heard refer to me as a "Freepresser." Somewhat ironic when you consider that the JFP is firmly behind Sheriff McMillin (and really, really dislikes Tyrone Lewis).

Anonymous said...

Hi Kingfish. Didn't know if you had heard this or not. Some of the ballots didnt list McMillan's name, just Tyrone's name. When questioned by a voter, the response was--that's the way they (the ballots) came to us, so they're right.

Curt Crowley said...

Dear Coward at 10:02pm:

You refer to me as a "Bitch." And you do so anonymously. That's about all I have to say about that.

You say it's a "suck job" when I said nice things about Lewis, but didn't bitch when I said nice things about McMillin.

You then accuse Lewis of perjury, and campaign finance violations. Then you wrap it all up by accusing others of suborning perjury.

All done anonymously.

You are a coward. A gutless, pathetic coward.

Reed said...

The strong profanity in my comment was directed primarily at the 2 klukkers who made the overtly racist statements.

No excuse, Curt. It adds no gravitas to your retort, it only makes you look bad. And despite who the sneering class at the Fondren Weekly are supporting (or not), they and their ilk love to use foul language.

If I lumped you in with the Free Press crowd it is because your vulgar language choices are akin to theirs, not because of your choice of candidate.

As far as the Republic of New Afrika reference, Lewis was enthusiastically endorsed by Chokwe Lumumba, an endorsement he happily accepted. Lumumba was the vice president of the Republic of New Afrika, a seditious separatist movement based on race. The reference is far from a baseless racial slur.

However, if you consider such monikers beyond the pale, perhaps you may wish to reconsider you reference to those posters as "klukkers", hmmm?

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
