Read that. Even Kaze doesn't buy the race crap DK continues to assert.

I had the same thought, 10:45. I wonder if Donna believes she's more in touch with the feelings of the black community than Kaze?

I suppose she'd answer that it doesn't really matter how they feel -- if they aren't upset, then it becomes Donna's responsibility to convince them that they ought to be upset.

The talk about the City of Jackson is a waste of time. It cannot be fixed. There is NO possible way. The stupid, racist, slugs who run the city prevent anything from turning around. Contrarily they are consistently making everything worse. That said...If Allen Thompson was brought back as dictator, even he could not fix a dead city.

While I sometimes read the JFP to keep up on the "counter culture" I have never kept up with their on-line discussions. However, having looked at the exchanges, Donna Ladd comes off as a caricature of the angry lefty white elitist, who feels she has to correct those poor unenlightened blacks who don't appreciate the enightened leadership of Mayor Harvey and the rest of the City Council. I imagine there is a Donna Ladd "type" in Detroit, telling folks not to pay any attention to the deteriorating city or their incompetent/corrupt leadership. Can you imagine the posture Ms. Ladd would take as to the performance of the Jackson City Council and Mayor if it was "not" primarily African-American.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Kaze should quote her some Colin Powell: "I don't need any lessons from you in how to be black"

Queen had some sharp words for Donna on the whole "I'm blacker than you" line she peddles. Donna is at heart a very liberal, very ivory-tower democrat. She honestly believes the democratic party line she picked up in Yankeeland, I suppose. It hasn't sat well with our more native-born neighbors.

If she's got problems with what I say, she knows where to find me.

BUT where Ladd is dead-on correct is that Jackson's problems won't be solved by a new spin campaign. The idea that people will move back into Jackson once a rebranding campaign is implemented is laughable at best.

11:24, who died and made you The Omiknowing Oz???? I will give you the fact that Jackson faces some very big obstacles right now. I think there is a pervading underpinning in the youth of our city that believe in Jackson and they want to make it a better city. And if they want to try to make it a better place, more power to them. If they want to renovate lofts, apartments, old buildings, I say let them have at it. If they want to bring jobs back downtown, I say let them. If there are college students such as Bradley Lum from the other week who believe in working together to make Jackson a better place, I say let them at least try. I just want to be sure that when Jackson does change because the youth of our city start electing people who are held accountable, please stay at home. We still won't have missed you.

1:45, what does this mean?

I just want to be sure that when Jackson does change because the youth of our city start electing people who are held accountable, please stay at home.

The 'youth' of Jackson can't move the needle enough to swing even ONE city council ward election in one direction or another.

1st problem to fix: get our court systems caught up (700+ days behind). i dont care if we remand charges on all non-violent crimes lets get caught up and then punish offneders. Even if we have to dump ALL OF MY TAX PAYING DOLLARS into jails and jailers. Then raise bails on violent criminals to the millions of dollars (senario: teenage shoots gun at occupied vehicle in madison county bail $1,000,000,000.) Send a message that your not gonna make bail for two years until court date anymore.

Anonymous said...

Mark, it's 1:45 and I really messed up that part of my thought. You got me there. I just mean the youth in Jackson seem determined to get Jackson on the right path.

Downtown this. Yada, yada, yada. Downtown that. Blah, blah, blah. Jackson's being lost in the neighborhoods. NOT DOWNTOWN. It is about residential ROOFTOPS not lofts and apartments. Get a freakin' clue.

Anonymous said...

3:56

Give us your solutions to improve neighborhoods????

Anonymous said...

ROTFLMFAO....She is STILL ranting about QW's slaughter of her "endorsed" candidate.

Anonymous said...

What is amusing about the census discussion there and elsewhere is these ongoing losses of Jackson population weren't some type of unknown. It is almost as if some of those people strangely believed the city was growing.

This is beautiful. A fat, white-guilt liberal "chick" calling out a black dude for not toeing the liberal black line.

Good for a gut-laugh. The liberal, hate-whitey crowd eating their own.

The city government needs to be held accountable for their spending. This includes general operating expenses (employee travel, fleet management, purchase of equipment, etc.), as well as, expenses for infrastructure projects. A larger tax base for them to pilfer away won't solve the basic problem.

Idiots and thieves come in all races. The predominate race of the city officials is not the issue. It's the lack of ability to make sound decisions which put the taxpayers' interests first. If the race of the governing officials is the sole issue, then the whites in Madison County need to make a run for it!

In my humble opinion, Ladd is a psycho, bi-polar, controlling, and argumentative person, who should be banned from working in public media.

However, if Ladd can tell me how I can personally make a difference in repairing our streets and water system--without holding the city government accountable, I'm all ears...

You can bet your last dollar that Junior Allen and TV Girl ain't gonna be having no babies and living downtown.

Kingfish said...

Actually not true. Going to live in Belhaven.

Anonymous said...

Belhaven isn't downtown. Everyone in Belhaven is one violent crime away from ditching Jacktown.

"You can bet your last dollar that Junior Allen and TV Girl ain't gonna be having no babies and living downtown."

You REMAIN obsessed.

Get a life.

Ladd and Kaze all balled up. Ladd telling Kaze how blacks feel, do and react. Why does anyone go back and forth with that clearly troubled 50 (FIFTY) year old woman, who surrounds herself with revolving door relationships with kids. Sigh.

If she were a dude, she would have been visited by now by the state.

Kingfish said...

And the boy in the bubble finally speaks up.

Anonymous said...

It is actually funny watching this evolve. All this "pot meet kettle" bullshit from the past has reared its beautiful head.

Kingfish said...

Compare that to the discussion we had about Kaze's email and then Mr. Lum's email to this site. You guys were top-notch. I got the best damn educated and informed readership of ANY media outlet in the state. you suckers can discuss bonds, redistricting, open records laws, dissect police reports, and then have informed discussions about Jackson's future. Damn y'all are good.

I am a racist, according to Donna Ladd, because I moved to Madison. I live in a racially mixed and gated subdivision, my kids go to a racially mixed public school, and I work in a racially mixed office and take care of a racially mixed client base. But, because I moved out of Jackson, and I am white, then that makes me a racist that she needs to condemn. Thanks a lot bitch.

Some of us Fish are actually smarter than you.

I liked it when you called Matt Allen a fence straddling milktoast a few months back.

Kingfish said...

6:42: that is not saying much.

Anonymous said...

I wonder if Ladd really reads this blog and gets it?

Anonymous said...

No she is too busy talking to herself.

Anonymous said...

This is how STUPID Ladd is: She just posted that anyone who says that Jackson is losing its middle class, is basing this on an assumption! (Her loonie buddy Tom Head reminded her that the government statistics would not be out til 2012)

HEY DUMBASSES....you can get this information tracked damn near monthly by the CMPDD, the Greater Jackson Alliance, the HCEDA. IT IS ON THEIR FREAKIN WEBSITES.

AND ALSO STUPID SHITS, YOU CAN CHECK THE PERCENTAGES OF AA'S NOW ATTENDING PUBLIC SCHOOLS in the metro schools as compared to 10/15/20 years ago, and the incredible increase in household median incomes.

GD SHE IS ONE STUPID WOMAN.

There is a difference between missing the boat and standing at an empty dock thinking (in your infinite wisdom) that you must have arrived early.

Yes Donna. Yes Tom. All the low income people are leaving Jackson and moving into those new homes in Madison and Rankin counties.

Kingfish said...

Good point 8:11. My first thought was to check real estate sales. All those nice homes in Rankin and Madison are being bought by someone.

The point made about "roof tops" ie. the importance of the residental base, is not just well taken with me but the subject of many socio-economic studies.
It is well understood that a residential tax base is important and it is point missed by this council AND was missed when our council was all white as well even though the decline in northeastern cities made it obvious that sacrificing residential areas for unchecked commercial development was a mistake.
The city has done their homework when it comes to downtown. They continue to be ill-informed on protecting neighborhoods and laws that make it difficult for neighborhoods to enforce or renew convenants, or become gated remain in place. Neighborhoods still lose out to commercial development and commercial demands.
Other cities have taken measures to preserve city neighborhoods that are successful and I would encourage our city officials to do their homework .
I'm glad to see there is less us/them and more rational discussion in this thread.
But, it is a fact that cities with more severe problems and less racial diversity have come back. Jackson can as well. Detroit is hardly a meaningful example when so many cities that are more comparable in factual measures that have revived exist. Richmond would be one.

I always thought the primary prob in "J" was the aged housing stock. White people are generally upwardly mobile and want new. There are some creative types who can do a lot with a ranch but most want new. So there was no choice back in the early nineties but to go to Madison or rankin. Jackson was essentially built put when I was a senior in high school. 1977' woodland hills wildcats. It was statrting in the early eigthies. And to be quite fair those areas like broad moor and even earlier like woodleah were aspirarional for the upwardly mobile blacks. And the trend continues.

Now I'm Fraid in the of Jackson unlike atl, the trend won't be back in to be closer to work. It will be out as the businesses will follow. And I mean corporate stuff. The execs will want to be close to work. And they live in Madison and rankin near good public schools that their tax dollars pay for.

Forget about "turning it around"' the business base is not there any more to do it. The city needs a whole new demographic image. Build on what's left. Medical and guvment. It will have to be done with a younger set. Which means poorer people. As the young often are.

Anonymous said...

But if the face of Jackson continues to be Kenny Stokes and Chuckie Lumbago, it appears hopeless to me.

Anonymous said...

I'll live where I wish, and apologize to no one for it. What a crock of sh!t.

She (Ladd) is really making herself look totally ignorant as to demographic real time charting. Does she not realize that developers DEMAND this infomation ROUTINELY, and this information is readily available from a myriad of agencies?

ARat DPS and Dept of Rev are going to get moved to Rankin County. Just watch. Sometime in Bryant's first term it will go down. So it will be more than Corps hammering the exits.

As for the meme the braindead who post @ the Bugle are regurgitating that people are going to come flooding back into Jackustan because of gas prices I'd like to share one word: CARPOOLS.

Damn I can't wait for that new marketing glossover to get kicked off.

Come back to Jackustan. Please. Our public school system sucks donkey dicks, our infrastructure is third world quality and we're deep in crime BUT you can get real loaded downtown!

Auburn rat said...

10:24:
That could be why the convention center hotel and complex is sooo far behind. If the local banks won't loan on it why would Morgan Stanley or chase do it? They all look at the same demographics, and redlining or not, they are not fixing to loan money to a doomed regime or city. This censusnstuff has far reaching consequences as do elections. The only reson Watkins was able to accomplish what he did is cause him and outfits like hri know how to milk the tax credit tit. More power to um but it's the tax payer that ends up sweeping up after stuff like that and financing gimmics like that raw about to be no more.

And j keV:

You hit the nail smack on the head! The libs invented the nblack persona we have to deal with today and they knew that back in the beginning of the great society. So now we have the rising new black class like kaz and they don't need or want a white libby qtelling them how to act or speak around normal white people or god forbid interact. Normal white people, who by the way make up the over whelming majority of the metro area today. No... That won't do, the Libby says to the free thinker, you are at the front of the white bus thanks to me but you are still at the back of the liberal bus defined by me.........talk about a tahir square moment, it's coming alright and the liberals will play Mubarak in this performance! I have spoken!

Donna Ladd is a complete idiot!

Not only does she miss the point, but she finds one tiny comment she has issue with and rambles about it in a "mere" 5 to 6 paragraphs of BS.

She is a pro at avoiding the real issues and clouding them with voluminous amounts of unnecessary wording and her personal opinions.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
